What immunization or vaccinations do refugees receive?
Refugees receive some vaccines overseas, and some through the Refugee Health Assessment process once they arrive in the United States. They must also have certain vaccinations in order to apply for their Green Card one year later. Children must have up-to-date vaccinations in order to enroll or remain in school. Parents may need help understanding that their children need to go for checkups every year, and may need additional vaccinations or boosters.
